EAB has not yet been detected in Idaho, but it continues to expand its range in the western United States. Since its discovery in North America in 2002, EAB has spread across much of the United States and Canada, killing hundreds of millions of ash trees and causing significant ecological and economic impacts.
Idaho communities, landowners, arborists, and landscape professionals have an opportunity to take proactive steps now to protect ash trees and reduce future impacts.
This website provides information and resources to help Idaho residents identify ash trees, recognize and report signs and symptoms of EAB, understand monitoring and management options, and learn how to prevent the accidental spread of invasive pests. By working together and preparing in advance, Idahoans can help slow the spread of EAB and support informed decision-making when this invasive insect eventually reaches our state.
